Sometimes you need to risk it all for a dream only you can see.

Cheyenne Glade Wilson

My name is Cheyenne Glade Wilson, also known as The Native Cowgirl. I am a 5th generation rancher and an enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota Sioux tribe. My family and I own/operate the Lazy Six Nine Ranch, which is a commercial cow operation. We also breed and raise draft-cross horses. We ranch on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota and we also ranch in the Beartooth Mountains in Montana.

I have a deep respect for our way of life, livestock, and for the land, which prompted me to begin my blog back in 2013. My writing and my photography help me promote our ranch life to folks all over the world. My goal is to spread awareness of modern day ranching, inspiration/positivity, and to perpetuate women’s roles in agriculture. You can find me at www.thenativecowgirl.com and on social media @thenativecowgirl.
